My Edlen Ring Arcana Run - Build Spoilers

We're going for the Bloody Helice. It's requirements are
Str - 16 (the same for most (all?) Greatswords)
    Dex - 19
    Arc - 17
Later we'll also want Eleonora's Poleblade. It's requirements are
    Str - 12
    Dex - 21
    Arc - 19
We also want some incantations and the Mimic Tear. As per the run, at Level 43 we want to be at:
    Vit - 22
    Spi - 9
    Con - 16
    Str - 16
    Dex - 21
    Int - 7
    Fai - 12
    Arc - 19
To cover all the basis, including a decent equip load/stamina gauge.

Reasoning: Eleonora's Twinblade is ... nice. But I somehow prefer the basic Twinblade because we can put the Bloody Slash Ash of War on it. However, we'll be able to Level Elonora's Twinblade to +9 way before we can get the basic Twinblade to a comparable Level - and so is that.

As for the Bloody Helice, it's firstly to get away from just doing a Greatsword build - or something equivalent. It isn't slow as a Colossal (high Str) weapon while for speed we have the twinblade. Heavy Thrusting Swords deal great stagger damage - and that's the main reason why we'd use anything but the twinblades. A second one being range.
The Heavy Thrusting Sword staggers faster than a Greatsword - so, if we need to rely on getting charged heavy attacks in, this is the way to go. Also, it's weapon art isn't bad. It's essentially a dodge that costs mana that can be followed up with essentially a heavy thrust. It feels equivalent to a charged attack. All that without the charging time of either a charged or uncharged heavy attack. And that's really useful in a few instances. It's very fringe ... but ... useful.
As the biggest downside I think the problem is that after using the dodge, one might feel they're not getting the full return out of the mana spent and thus greed for a follow up attack, which can ... take one right into harms way.

It's nice to learn a few things about dodging.
